Dr. Lamie began his career pursuits at Michigan State University in East Lansing, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He subsequently enrolled at the Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.
After earning his Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Lamie completed residency training at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital (formerly Blodgett Medical Center) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
